Scientific Name: Vanellus indicus
Common Name: Red-wattled Lapwing
Other Names: Teetahree, Red-wattled Plover

Identifying Features: red beak, white striped, black head, long yellow legs

Fun Facts:

  • They produce loud alarm calls which differentiate them from other species of birds. These sounds are variously rendered as Pity to do it or Did he do it.
