Identifying Features: slender and curved beak, metallic blue and purple body, olive brown body, tubular tongue, small size

Fun Facts:

  • Female species and non breeding males have olive brown body. This is known as Eclipsed form of male purple sunbird.
  • They use singing as a tool to defend their territory and for chasing intruders.
