Identifying Features: long tail, green colour body, red beak, black and red ring around the neck
- Captive individuals can be taught to speak. Both males and females have the ability to mimic human speech. They are a herbivorous and non-migratory species.
- In north-west India, Indian rose-ringed parakeets form pairs from September to December. They do not have life mates and often breed with another partner during the following breeding season.
