Common Name: White-breasted Waterhen
Other Name: Ruak-ruak, Korawakka, Dahuk, Dauk, Daahuka, Pankombadi, Kuak kombadi

Identifying Features: dark grey upperparts; white face, neck and breast; long toes, short tail, yellow bill and legs

Fun Facts:

  • Many rails are very secretive, but white-breasted waterhens are often seen out in the open.
  • The Andamans population insularis is said to make duck like quack calls.
