Identifying Features: Male has a black breast-patch and distinctive head pattern of black and white, small and round, black beak, delicate spots on breast in females.
Fun Facts:
- The call is a metallic chrink-chrink.
- These terrestrial birds are found in monsoonal areas (hence the name “rain” quail) and open grasslands.
