White-tailed Stonechat

Scientific Name : Saxicola leucurus
Common Name: White-tailed Stonechat, Black Stonechat
Other Names: Kharpidda, Common Stonechat

Identifying Features:  black wings, black feathers, black head, white body, white breasted, small size.

Fun Facts:

  • They are generally found in loose pairs, rarely in singles.
  • It makes a cup shaped nest in natural depressions on the ground among plants like lotuses or tamarisk.
