Common Name: Whiskered Tern

Identifying Features: black cap, red beak, red legs, grey body, white cheek

Fun Facts:

  • In winter, the forehead becomes white and the body plumage a much paler grey.
  • The whiskered tern eats small fish, amphibians, insects and crustaceans.
