Pallid Harrier

Scientific Name: Circus macrourus
Common Name: Pallid Harrier, Pale Harrier

Identifying Features: male has whitish grey body, female has brown body; yellow legs, white patches under both eyes, silver beak

Fun Facts:

  • Pallid harriers hunt small mammals, lizards and birds, surprising them as they drift low over fields and moors.
  • The nest of this species is on the ground. Four to six whitish eggs are laid.
