Identifying Features: brown body, short legs, whitish belly, a light patch on neck bordered with black, black beak with red base
Fun Facts:
- An unusual feature of all pratincoles is that although classed as waders they typically hunt their insect prey on the wing like swallows, although they can also feed on the ground.
- They are migratory, wintering in both India and Pakistan, Indonesia and Australasia.
