Bay-backed Shrike

Scientific Name: Lanius vittatus
Common Name: Bay-backed Shrike
Other Names: Latora

Identifying Features: Black facial mask, maroon-brown above, white throat, long black tail.

Fun Facts:

  • Its diet comprises of insects, small lizards and sometimes mice .
  • They usually feeds alone or in pairs, during times of abundant prey, it may store its food for periods when food is scarce.
