Sirkeer Malkoha

Scientific Name: Phaenicophaeus leschenaultii 
Common Name: Sirkeer Malkoha
Other Names: Sirkeer cuckoo, junglee tota

Identifying Features: long-tailed, brown on the upper side, curved red beak tipped in yellow, tail broadly tipped with white, grey legs.

Fun Facts:

  • A non-parasitic cuckoo found in dry scrub forest and open woodland habitats.
  • They feed on small lizards, insects, and sometimes berries and seeds.
