Common Name: Oriental Honey-buzzard
Other Name: Crested honey buzzard

Identifying Features: brown body, short black beak with yellow base, yellow feet

Fun Facts:

  • True to its name, this species is a raider of wasp and bee nests, although it prefers bee and wasp larvae over their honey.
  • It breeds in Asia from central Siberia east to Japan. It is a summer migrant to Siberia, wintering in tropical Southeast Asia.
