Identifying Features: large spoon-shaped black bill, green head, yellow eyes, white breast, water bird, rapid wing beats, orange legs

Fun Facts:

  • They are usually referred to as ‘Spoonbill’ or ‘Spoony’ because of their unique spoon-shaped long bill.
  • They are social birds as they work together in groups while feeding and rotating like a pin-wheel.
