Great White Pelican

Common Name: Great White Pelican
Other Name: Eastern white pelican, Rosy pelican, white pelican

Identifying Features: white body, yellow bill from below and pinkish grey from above, short legs, webbed feet

Fun Facts:

  • The great white pelican is highly sociable and often forms large flocks. It is well adapted for aquatic life.
  • Great white pelicans are not restricted to fish, however, and are often opportunistic foragers. They also rob other birds of their prey.
