Eurasian Thick-knee

Scientific Name: Burhinus oedicnemus
Common Name: Eurasian Thick-knee
Other Name: Stone-curlew, Eurasian stone-curlew

Identifying Features: yellow and black bill,  large yellow eyes, brown body, black streaks present overall, yellow legs

Fun Facts:

  • Largely nocturnal, particularly when singing its loud wailing songs.
  • Food consists of insects and other small invertebrates, and occasionally small reptiles, frogs and rodents.
