Common Name: Black Kite

Identifying Features: dark plumage, forked tail, black claws, yellow legs, black bill

Fun Facts:

  • Black kites are opportunistic hunters and are more likely to scavenge. They spend much time soaring and gliding in thermals in search of food.
  • Both the male and female take part in nest building, incubation and care of chicks.
