Ashy Drongo

 

Scientific Name: Dicrurus leucophaeus
Common Name: Ashy Drongo, white-cheeked drongo
Other Names:  Grey drongo, Indian grey drongo, pale drongo

Identifying Features:  Red eyes, ash-grey body, sharply forked long tail

Fun Facts:

  • They are considered as fearless birds. They can attack even larger species if their nests or young ones are threatened.
  • They execute astonishing twists and turns in air with great skill and speed. Hence, considered as one of the magnificent fliers.
